Kimmy knew at an early age that hair was her passion. Her family, friends and teachers instilled in her that if you believe in yourself anything is possible. In addition to her passion for the arts, Kimmy loves to educate and be educated. This has kept her excited and passionate about her career and has been a huge part of her success. In her 21 years of experience she has been trained by some of the best in the business. It began at age 15, when she enrolled at Montgomery County Vocational Technical School, while shampooing hair at an area salon. At age 17, Kimmy received her cosmetology license in the state of Pennsylvania. After winning a state cosmetology competition, she was awarded a full scholarship to the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy. It was there that Kim received her cosmetology teaching license at the age of 18. While gaining experience at area salons, Kim was hired at one of the top salon and day spas in the Main Line area at the early age of 20. It was there that she was mentored by many great stylists while attending educational programs from Sassoon, Redken, Sebastian, & Bumble & Bumble. During her 14 years there Kimmy became an educator teaching classes and sharing her love for hair with other stylists.
Kimmy then decided to follow her dream, to open SALON NOVA. SALON NOVA opened in June 2008 with 5 employees and we are proud to say that 5 years, 1 expansion and 21 employees later the salon is still going strong!
